2AgNO3 + K2CrO4 → Ag2CrO4↓ + 2KNO3
Genel Bakış
Silver nitrate reacts with potassium chromate to form a brick-red precipitate of silver chromate (Ksp = 1.1 × 10⁻¹²). This reaction is the basis of the Mohr method for determining chloride concentration by titration with AgNO₃ using K₂CrO₄ indicator.

Günlük Örnek
The Mohr titration is used to measure salt content in food, measuring chloride by adding silver nitrate until the red silver chromate endpoint appears.
Endüstriyel Önemi
The Mohr chloride titration is a standard method in water quality analysis, food science, and in the cement industry.
