Demonstration der umgekehrten Proportionalität zwischen Druck und Volumen
Ziel
Das Boyle'sche Gesetz (P₁V₁ = P₂V₂) durch Messung des Volumens eines eingeschlossenen Gases bei verschiedenen Drücken überprüfen.
Hintergrund
Boyle's law states that at constant temperature, the pressure and volume of a gas are inversely proportional. This experiment uses a closed syringe or J-tube manometer to measure gas volume at different pressures and confirm the relationship.
Sicherheitswarnungen
- Do not apply excessive pressure to glass apparatus
- Ensure all connections are airtight
Erforderliche PSA
Materialien
-
Boyle's law apparatus or large syringe (1)60 mL syringe works
-
Pressure gauge (1)Or manometer
-
Rubber tubing (30 cm)
-
Graph paper (2 sheets)
Ausrüstung
Durchführung
Set up the Boyle's law apparatus with a known volume of trapped air. Record the initial pressure and volume.
Increase the pressure by adding mercury or pushing the syringe. Record the new pressure and volume.
Take at least 8 readings at different pressures, both increasing and decreasing.
Calculate PV for each reading. They should all be approximately equal.
Plot P vs V (hyperbola) and P vs 1/V (straight line through origin) graphs.
Erwartete Ergebnisse
The product PV should remain approximately constant (within 5% experimental error). The P vs 1/V graph should be a straight line through the origin, confirming the inverse proportionality.
Aufräumen
Return apparatus to storage. Dispose of graph paper drafts.
