Na2S + CuSO4 → CuS + Na2SO4
अवलोकन
Sodium sulfide reacts with copper(II) sulfate to form a black precipitate of copper(II) sulfide and sodium sulfate. CuS is extremely insoluble, making this a useful test for copper ions. The black precipitate forms instantly upon mixing.

रोजमर्रा का उदाहरण
The black tarnish on silver jewelry involves a similar sulfide precipitation reaction when silver contacts sulfur-containing substances.
औद्योगिक महत्व
Sulfide precipitation is used in mining wastewater treatment to remove heavy metals. Copper sulfide is also a copper ore mineral.
