Pb(NO3)2 + 2NaCl → PbCl2↓ + 2NaNO3
نظرة عامة
Lead nitrate reacts with sodium chloride to form a white precipitate of lead chloride (Ksp = 1.7 × 10⁻⁵). PbCl₂ is moderately insoluble at room temperature but becomes quite soluble in hot water, distinguishing it from AgCl. The precipitate consists of fine needle-like crystals.

مثال من الحياة اليومية
In qualitative analysis, PbCl₂ is separated from AgCl and Hg₂Cl₂ by dissolving it in hot water, a key step in Group I cation analysis.
الأهمية الصناعية
Lead chloride precipitation is important in lead recycling processes and in understanding lead contamination behavior in water treatment.
