2KOH + H2SO4 → K2SO4 + 2H2O
Visão geral
Potassium hydroxide reacts with sulfuric acid in a 2:1 ratio to form potassium sulfate and water. This diprotic acid neutralization produces a neutral salt that is one of the most important potassium fertilizers. The reaction is strongly exothermic.
Participantes
| Papel | Substância | Coeficiente | Estado |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reagente | Sulfuric Acid H₂SO₄ | 1 | (aq) |
| Reagente | Potassium Hydroxide KOH | 2 | (aq) |
| Produto | Water H₂O | 2 | (l) |
Exemplo do cotidiano
Potassium sulfate fertilizer, used extensively in agriculture for potassium-sensitive crops like fruits and vegetables, can be made by this neutralization.
Importância industrial
O sulfato de potássio é um fertilizante premium para culturas sensíveis ao cloreto. Fornece potássio e enxofre sem o teor de cloreto do cloreto de potássio.
