H2 + O2 → H2O2
Visão geral
The industrial synthesis of hydrogen peroxide uses the anthraquinone auto-oxidation process, where hydrogen and oxygen combine with the aid of an anthraquinone carrier and palladium catalyst. The net reaction is the direct combination of hydrogen and oxygen to form hydrogen peroxide.
Participantes
| Papel | Substância | Coeficiente | Estado |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reagente | Hydrogen H | 1 | (g) |
| Reagente | Oxygen O | 1 | (g) |

Exemplo do cotidiano
Hydrogen peroxide from the pharmacy (3% solution) is used for wound disinfection and hair bleaching.
Importância industrial
Mais de 5 milhões de toneladas de peróxido de hidrogénio são produzidas anualmente, utilizadas no branqueamento de pasta e papel, tratamento de água, síntese química e propulsores de foguetões.
