모스코븀은 러시아 모스크바주의 이름을 땄다. 2003년 두브나 합동원자핵연구소에서 처음 합성되었다.

모스코븀 개요

Synthesis of moscovium was first achieved in 2003 at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna, and the element is named after Moscow Oblast, the surrounding region. Its atomic number is 115 and its relative atomic mass 290.0, with the configuration [Rn] 5f14 6d10 7s2 7p3 placing it in group 15 of period 7 beneath bismuth. No electronegativity has been determined and the chemical properties are unknown. Moscovium decays by alpha emission into nihonium, and the observation of that decay chain formed part of the evidence by which both elements were recognised as new additions to the periodic table.
