H2 + Cl2 → 2HCl
Descripción general
Hydrogen gas and chlorine gas combine to form hydrogen chloride gas. This reaction can be initiated by UV light and proceeds explosively as a radical chain reaction. Dissolving HCl gas in water produces hydrochloric acid.
Participantes
| Rol | Sustancia | Coeficiente | Estado |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reactivo | Hydrogen H | 1 | (g) |
| Reactivo | Chlorine Cl | 1 | (g) |
| Producto | Hydrochloric Acid HCl | 2 | (g) |
Ejemplo cotidiano
Hydrochloric acid, made by dissolving the product in water, is found in muriatic acid used to clean concrete and adjust pool pH.
Importancia industrial
La producción de HCl es importante para la industria química, utilizado en el decapado del acero, procesamiento de alimentos y como reactivo en síntesis orgánica e industria farmacéutica.
