2NH3 + CO2 → (NH2)2CO + H2O
Descripción general
Ammonia reacts with carbon dioxide at high temperature and pressure to form urea and water. This is the Bosch-Meiser process, which produces the most widely used nitrogen fertilizer. The first synthetic organic compound was urea, famously synthesized by Wohler in 1828.

Ejemplo cotidiano
Urea is the main component of most solid nitrogen fertilizers applied to lawns and gardens worldwide.
Importancia industrial
La urea es el fertilizante nitrogenado sólido más producido mundialmente, con más de 180 millones de toneladas anuales.
